At J Living, we actively work with serious student athletes up to college-level to enhance their physical and mental conditioning and abilities, with the goal of helping them to become far better athletes. These individuals are prepared to go to the next level and do what it takes in their sport and in life. Thus, we work with student athletes who are teachable and coachable and who have humility and a willing to learn, grow, and stretch towards their highest point.

J Living offers individuals or teams a full gym or we can travel to your home, gym, field, or court. The process begins with a private consultation/conversation, a determination of the athletes’ physical and mental needs, and our suggestions as to physical and mental exercise, how often to participate each week, and the duration.

 

Whether we work with individuals or a team, we emphasize stability, agility, strength, power, endurance, and balance. We recognize that student athletes may need help in moving past barriers and reaching their potential and beyond. Thus, we help them to break down the walls of their limitations and remove mental or physical blocks that stand in the way of their success.

 

Physical and Mental Fitness
Student athletes and teams can envision participating in physical drills, techniques, mental fitness, and coaching. We determine the right workouts to meet specific sports and goals, and balance effective workouts with guidance as to basic nutritional guidelines and proper amount of rest to help reach potential.

 

As student athletes often are not relaxed and get nervous about their performance, we introduce relaxation techniques, such as proper breathing. We conduct mental concentration drills, including certain physical activities, such as blindfolded shooting hoops/kicking soccer balls/throwing baseballs, etc., to strengthen them mentally and physically.

Further, we use imagery and creative visualization to strengthen focus and confidence. At times, we integrate yoga processes into the physical and mental conditioning to strengthen certain areas, such as flexibility, strength, and concentration.

 

Parents Need Coaching Too
We meet with parents and coaches to determine how together we can help the student athlete(s) reach their potential. We also help parents and student athletes decide the path to take relative to their sport.

 

Further, we work closely with parents in reaching their potential and honoring themselves and their overall health, well-being, and balance. We share suggestions on how to create a different physical and emotional atmosphere at home and properly speak to their child on and off the field/court to help their athletic abilities and enhance their potential in sports and in life.
